Where can I find dog events near me in Cincinnati this weekend?+
This weekend (Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8): Ales and Tails Adoption Event at New Richmond Tavern (Saturday, 3 to 5 p.m.). Start with the list on this page. It shows dog-friendly events, adoption days and dog-sport meets across Greater Cincinnati that are still ahead, and it rebuilds every day so finished events drop off. For anything posted after our last update, check the calendars of the League for Animal Welfare, SPCA Cincinnati, Cincinnati Animal CARE and Save The Animals Foundation.
Where are dog adoption events held around Cincinnati?+
Mostly out in the community rather than at the shelter. The League for Animal Welfare brings adoptable animals to farmers markets, pet stores, farm festivals and local businesses, and Save The Animals Foundation hosts open houses at its Red Bank Road shelter. Each event above lists the venue and address.
Are there pet events in Northern Kentucky?+
Yes. Coming up across the river: Kitties and Pitties Adoption Event at Braxton Brewing Covington (Saturday, November 14, 2026, 1 to 4 p.m.); Tails and Tees Adoption Event at Cincy Shirts in Fort Mitchell (Saturday, November 21, 2026, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.). Every weekend there are adoption days in Northern Kentucky too: Cincinnati Animal CARE brings adoptable dogs to the Florence PetSmart every other Saturday and the Newport PetSmart on the first Sunday of the month, and the Stray Animal Adoption Program, a Newport rescue, holds adoption days at the Newport and Florence PetSmart stores on Saturdays and the Crescent Springs Petco on Sundays. Their calendars are linked further down this page.
Can I bring my own dog to an adoption event?+
Not always. Adoption events are mainly for meeting adoptable animals, so check with the organizer before you bring your own dog. When an event welcomes leashed, well-behaved dogs, we list it under Bring your dog.
Are there dog sports and training events near Cincinnati?+
Yes. Queen City Dog Training Club and Clermont County Dog Training Club both hold trials and meets during the year. Their upcoming dates are listed on this page while they are still ahead. Registration and spectator rules vary, so read each club's event materials first.
What can I do with my dog in Cincinnati when there is no event?+
Plenty. Our dog-friendly Cincinnati guide covers the patios, breweries and dog parks around the tri-state that welcome dogs, so a free weekend still has somewhere to go.
